Ensure compliance with new European legislation!
Doing nothing is not an option
European legislation now dictates that all new WLAN’s (Wireless Local Area Networks) in hospitals and similar healthcare institutions must comply with the requirements of EN-60601-1-3. Moreover, from 1st November 2004, non-compliant wireless networks in such premises had to be switched off!
This follows a major BBC television programme report, which advised that government health authorities might soon be actively promoting the introduction of WLAN’s into exactly this type of building.
